Unlock The Secret To Succeeding With Online Ebay Auctions

Sell Postcards on eBay and the Major Problem of Place Names

Ebay is one of the hottest ways to make money online today. Anyone with an Internet connection and something to sell can get started almost immediately! There are many part-time sellers, but also a few who have found a way to quit their jobs just by selling their goods on Ebay. This article will look at 3 amazingly simple tips you can use to start making huge profits from Ebay:

1. Find the market, then source or create the product. Don't do it the other way around (Find the product, then find the market). Once you have found a market that you know is hot, your product has a great chance of selling well. As long as your product solves a problem or fulfils a desire, you can command a good price for it.

2. Your auction presentation is very important. How you present your auctions determines how many products you will sell. Make sure you state the benefits and the facts about your product. Don't state features or benefits that don't exist. It may get you more sales, but it might also cause you more problems in the shape of refunds later on.

3. Always state what your return policy is. Having a return policy or a money-back guarantee is crucial to gaining your customer's trust. It shows you trust your product. Customers are more and more afraid of getting ripped off nowadays, and they need something to reassure them. A money-back guarantee goes a long way to achieving that.

Selling on eBay can be so much more than a hobby with which you spend your time. It can be so much more than a small business you run to augment your total income a little bit. Selling on eBay can be your primary source of living, and if you do it just right, it can be the moneymaking machine you've only been dreaming of.

You can amplify your eBay earnings from measly to millions, or at least, to an amount that you can consider a significant addition to your income. Here are six ways to increase your eBay earnings:

1.) Take a look at your inventory and make an honest assessment. Are the products you're selling something you would buy and use? If you answered no, ask yourself why. Is it because you know the products are not of the highest quality, or is it just because you have no need for them? If you answered yes to either question, you might want to change paths fast. If you yourself won't use your products, there's no reason why other people should.

2.) Keep your inventory fully replenished and updated at all times. Stock up on bestselling items as they go off the shelf. Avoid the "out of stock" status for any of your products because it just means lost opportunities to make a sale.

3.) Sell similar items that target the same market in order to maximize the potential to make sales. For example, if you're selling children's clothes, you may want to sell children's shoes, too. Parents looking for children's clothes may also be looking for shoes, and so you need to grab that opportunity and make it yours.

4.) Introduce new and interesting products regularly to keep your customers' interest alive. This practice gives them a reason to look forward to your new additions.

5.) Value your customers by giving them the best service. Pay attention to what they need, not only in terms of product specifics, but also in terms of experience. People want to feel special; if you can give that, then they'll surely look forward to dealing with you again.

6.) Just have fun. For some people, selling on eBay is a serious business. After all, a lot of money is involved on eBay. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be fun.

Be aware that place names change and what you key into the title for your listing might be quite unlike what people call the place today or the name they will key into eBay's search engines. One high profile example is what today is spelled 'Middlesbrough', which is sometimes also called 'Middlesborough'.

Now I happen to know that a great many people call the town ?Middlesborough?, in speech and in writing. So it follows that if you type 'Middlesbrough' into your title, and potential buyers key 'Middlesborough' into eBay's search engine, your listing is not going to be appear to a huge chunk of your target audience.

So all my listings for the town begin:

MIDDLESBROUGH / MIDDLESBOROUGH. Note I also leave a gap between the names and the slash symbol as otherwise eBay's search engine will consider 'MIDDLESBROUGH/MIDDLESBOROUGH' to be one word and might ignore it in searches for all versions of the town name.

MORE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT PLACE NAMES

* For really small topographical areas, like tiny villages, also places that no longer exist, it's best to locate the nearest main town and add that to your title alongside the less well known area depicted in the postcard. This is because collectors know that few postcards of their chosen area are likely to exist and most search using nearby place names.

Additionally most very small villages were actually identified as part and parcel of a nearby main town or may even share its name with another slightly larger village. For example, the village where I live, High Hesleden, was classed as part of Castle Eden or Monk Hesleden in Victorian and Edwardian times, so a search for 'High Hesleden' is likely to miss cards I'd desperately like to have.

As an example, a postcard of High Hesleden which is close to Castle Eden and not too far from Hartlepool, subject to space available in my title I might list as:

HIGH HESLEDEN Nr. Castle Eden Hartlepool Postcard 1900

This way I cover all variations for people selling card depicting that particular location, which makes it easy for buyers too!

Are you having trouble using Turbo Lister to sell your eBooks on eBay? The follow my easy step-by-step guide and you'll be up and running in no time!

What is Turbo Lister?

Turbo Lister is eBay's listing tool program. If you are listing a lot of auctions this little program is going to save you a lot of time! If you haven't already got it, you can get it from eBay (it's FREE) under their selling tools section.

Why should you use it?
Once you've got a listing set up in turbo lister you can easily relist it as many times as you like! You don't even have to be online to use turbo lister as the program is installed onto your own computer so you can work on your listings and then when you are ready, upload them all to eBay when it suits you.

STEP 1

It'll ask for your eBay username and password when you first log in (don't worry its safe - it's just so that it can upload your auctions for you).

STEP 2

Once you are in, click the 'NEW' button then choose 'Create New Item' to create your first listing.

STEP 3

From here it's pretty easy; you enter title, description, category, whether you are selling in Auction format or Buy It Now etc. I recommend using a Fixed Price for digital items so that you can get immediate payments via PayPal and your customer will get the link to download the file automatically. You don't even have to be at your computer, eBay will give the link to your customer automatically.

STEP 4

For listing digital items, then once you choose your category (which should be Everything Else > Information Products > ...) an option will show up underneath the category section called Digital Item. Click the 'Edit' button and tick the boxes for 'List as a digital file or information' and 'I am legally authorized to sell this digital item'.

STEP 5

This will change the delivery option box to Digital Item Delivery (rather than regular delivery). So then click the drop down box to 'Provide Web Address for Download'. Then you can put in the web address of where your customer can download their item and any extra delivery instructions.

STEP 6

The last thing that you need to do is make sure that the 'Immediate payments required' box is ticked in Payment Methods so that your customer will get the link to download the file as soon as they pay.

STEP 7

Enter your PayPal information and you are done!

eBay will give the download link to your customer and all you need to do is sit back and wait!

1. End your auctions when everyone is home: The time you list your auctions can have a big effect on the number of bids your auction receives and the closing price of your auctions. The time when your auction usually gets the most bids is near the end. If you have listed
an auction for 7 days, the whole seven days have been building up to the end of the auction. The end is when the last minute bidding begins, bidders desperately try to out bid one another to win the auction. The end of your auction is also when it gets the most traffic because the less time your auction has left the higher it places in the search results of someone that is looking for items similar to yours.

So what is the best time to list? A better question would be: when is the best time for an auction to close? The best time for an auction to close is in the evenings and on weekends. Why? Because that is when most people are home! You want to make sure that when your auction is closing, everyone that is bidding on it or is interested in biddingon it is free to do so.What would happen if your auction closes at 9 am on a Monday morning? Everyone would be either sleeping or going to work and no one would have the time or energy to place any bids. You need to make your auction end at the bidder's convenience, in other words when the bidder is home and surfing the internet, in the evening or weekend. How important is it to end your auctions when everyone is home and on their computer?

Studies have shown that a listing that ends at peak hours can attract up to 25% more bids
that one that has a poorly timed ending.

This is something you should definitely look into because simply listing your auctions at
certain times is probably the easiest and most effortless ways to attract more bids and
make hire profits.

So if you want to increase your profits; you should have your auctions end at anywhere
from 8 pm - 11 pm in the evening, or end on weekends (in the afternoons). In other
words, your auctions should end when everyone is home and has a chance to place a bid.

2. 100% money back guarantee: You need to make your potential costumers feel
comfortable, completely safe and take away any fears or doubts they may have about
buying from you. A very effective way to accomplish that is to give a 100% money back
guarantee. This is no "secret". Nearly every retail store, internet store, manufacturer and
power seller does this. And yet a lot of eBay sellers try to avoid it.

Some sellers are scared of buyers taking advantage of their money back guarantees, so
they either create a huge list of rules and regulations that simply scare people away or
have a "no refunds" policy. A guarantee's purpose is to take away any fear or doubt
people may have about buying from you, some seller's guarantees do the exact opposite;
there are just too many scary rules and stipulations. That's why you need a %100 money
back guarantee with no strings attached!

The only "string" you need in your 100% money back guarantee is a time limit. The best
time limit to give is a 90 days. Don't worry, most items are returned within the first
couple of weeks, so if they haven't returned it in the first 30 day their most likely keeping
it. So why give 90 days instead of 30? Because it sounds better, Would you rather have
30 day guarantee or a 90 day one? 90 days it is.

A 90 day 100% money back guarantee can do wonders for your business, it will take
away doubts, fears and uncomfortable feelings of skeptical visitors and make them
choose you over other sellers that have less promising guarantees.

If you are scared to offer a guarantee, don't be. You will gain more money that you loose.
Sure there might be some people who take advantage of your kindness, use the product
for 90 days and return it. But that is inevitable, the only way to completely avoid those
nasty people is to never do anything. Stop being so scared, you will gain much more
than you loose.

3. Professionally designed listing graphics: Professionally designed listing graphics
have been proven to increase the number of bids an auctions receives by up to 25%. And
that is why getting hiring a graphics designer to design your auction graphics is worth
every penny.

How can graphics increase the number of bids your auctions get by up to 25%? Well,
let's see:

First of all a unique design will give you an identity and make you stand out from a
crowed.

Graphics can give your auction listings a professional appearance, and most people want
to deal with professionals not amateurs.

A unique design will keep people thinking of you. Every time a costumer comes across
one of your listings they will recognize you. Big companies pay hundreds of millions of
dollars to gain recognition, why? Because most people tent to trust companies they
recognize over companies they have never heard of before.

Those are some of the main reason why professionally designed listing graphics can
dramatically increase the number of bids your auctions receive. There are many more
reasons why you should get your own auction listing design, but the most important thing
you should know is 25% more bids translates into a lot of extra money.

Be aware that place names change and what you key into the title for your listing might be quite unlike what people call the place today or the name they will key into eBay's search engines. Quick EBay Income - How to Sell on EBay

As eBay continues to dominate the online shopping world, the competition to sell items on this site is getting stiffer by the hour. Just imagine having millions of people from all over the world as competition in selling your items, this business is tough especially when you are not aware of the killers secrets to stand above the rest. Here are the 3 responsive methods that can tremendously help you to excel in eBay:

1. Post great photos and item description. Wonder why catalogue-based shopping has never lost its popularity throughout these years? It's because it doesn't fail in giving potential clients detailed information about the product being sold. To make this work for you on your eBay career, make sure that you post the most recent photos of your products on your listing. If you have high-end digital camera, use this to get the best image of your product. In addition, include a very detailed description of your item. It is brand new? Does it need repair? Small details like these can make a big difference in getting rather higher bids.

2. Payment first. Send the item only after you have received the full payment to protect you from any kind of fraudulent activities. This is applicable to all buyers regardless if you have done business with them before or if you are related to them. Remember, business is business and you have to make sure that you get your profit from it.

3. Keep your buyers posted. Keep them updated with the status of their orders. Send them email once you have sent the item and ask for update once they have received the product. Also, let them know that you are planning to post great feedback for them to encourage them to do the same. You can continuously communicate with them even after the transaction is done. You'll never know, they will be interested to do repeat business with you.

7. Offering good feedbacks for your buyers will generate more customers that will keep on coming back. So at first, sell inexpensive items to build up a feedback system.

online auction software, auction software, ebay software, ebay auction software,Ebay Software Review

Hi, my name is Walt. I'm an auctioneer with 25 years of experience in the auction business and licensed in the state of MA. I own Quick Auction Service, a company that specializes in building and running custom auctions, I'm also the webmaster of my own site and have been on eBay for 8 years. Besides eBay, the types of auctions I run most frequently are antiques and on-site estate auctions, although I've run everything from business overstock auctions to charity & special event auctions.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and stories of the auction business. My goal for article is to help folks get the absolute most out of their auction experience.

Whether your fresh out of the package or a seasoned dealer I think I can offer something in this article to help you with your auciton adventures.

There may be as many reasons to attend auctions as there are types of auctions to attend. Maybe you want to attend an auction to buy items for re-sale on eBay, or some other market. Maybe you want to furnish your home with wonderful antiques, or you want to furnish your home as inexpensively without sacrificing quality. Some folks are just looking for a fun night out. With a little perseverance all these things are possible.

There are antiques and estate auctions, auto auctions, overstock auctions, absolute and no reserve auctions, real estate auctions, specialty auctions where only one genre of items are sold, tailgate auctions, live auctions, online auctions, sealed bid auctions, silent auctions, charity and fund raising auctions and many more.

Can you really buy for pennies on the dollar at an auction? You bet! Many times I've seen folks buy and re-sell at the same auction on the same night for a good profit, although be advised, this should only be done after the auction is over.

There are a lot of ways to find an auction, but here are some tips on how to find and attend the best ones.

Visit the genre of shops in the area that apply to the type of auction you want to attend. IE: If your looking for a good antique auction to attend, stop in the local antiques shops and ask for what there are for good auctions in the area. Sounds obvious right? But listen to what they don't say as well as what they do say. Oftentimes when a dealer speaks poorly about an auction he or she attends, it may be likely that they are trying to keep a good thing secret. Think for a moment, why would a dealer keep attending a lousy auction?

Newspaper ads: I personally like to find ads in the classified ad section rather than flashy display ads. Flashy ads are usually indicative of an auction that will be high priced, may have reserves, (a set price on an item), and usually an enormous crowd. While any auction can be profitable to attend, it is usually best to steer clear of the glitzy ones, at least for the beginner.

Here's the minimum you want to find out before you go. If there is a phone number in the ad, call and ask for the terms of the sale. What forms of payment do they accept? Is it an absolute auction? An absolute auction is one that has no minimum or reserve bids on items. These are the best auctions to attend! Is there a buyers premium? A buyers premium is like a tax that everyone who makes purchases at that auction must pay above the winning bid price. Most auctions these days do charge a buyers premium, 10% is not unreasonable but I feel much more than that is greedy, and the auctioneer that charges over 10% is counting on most bidders not doing the extra math as the bids quicken in pace.

A fair auction will have ample time to inspect the merchandise, usually at least 2 or 3 hours. Find out when inspection starts and make sure to attend! Never attend an auction if you can't make the inspection, not unless your prepared to gamble. Most auctioneers sell at a rate of about 100 items per hour, which is why they sell "as is". They simply don't have the time to give a detailed description of all the items. Since almost all items at auction are sold AS IS, there are sure to be some damaged, refinished, fake and incomplete items at any given auction. Beware of any auctions that offer very little or no inspection time.

Good auctions will usually have 150 to 400 lots. A lot may be one item or a group of items. The exception to this are specialty auctions, auto auctions, real estate auctions etc.

When you attend your first sale, take note of the 1/2 dozen or so dealers that buy the most often. See if you can find out about other area auctions they attend.

When you do find an excellent auction, attend it as often as possible. By frequenting good sales, you help increase the bottom line of that business. It's difficult for many auctioneers to keep the quality of merchandise consistent, so good attendance certainly helps. And when an auctioneer gets to know you as a buyer, he/she will go out of the way to accommodate you, to keep you coming back.

Attend an auction this week, it's one of the only market places where you can set the price.

Thanks for reading and have fun.

Selling lingerie on eBay can be profitable if you know the process. If you are interested in selling lingerie on eBay or online you need to follow these few steps.

First find out which lingerie is in demand on eBay. I do this by using eBay Pulse. eBay Pulse lets you see what the top 10 searches are within a product category. So for lingerie the top ten searches as of the writing of this article are:

Used

Worn

Victoria secret

Victories secret

La perla

Lot

Pictures

Corset

Vintage

Xl

So if I wanted to specialize in lingerie on eBay I would pick one of these products to sell because they are in great demand. Once I select a product that is in high demand I need to find a lingerie drop shipping company.

Finding a lingerie drop shipping company is not easy. You can look on the internet but you will not know which companies are best until you try a few. Of course if you sell an item on eBay and then expect your drop shipper to ship the item and something goes wrong then your feedback will go into the toilet. Make sure you know that you are dealing with a reliable drop shipping company by doing your research and getting other sellers opinion. There are many online communities that will give you their opinion of different drop shippers and I rely on these communities when deciding who to select.

Selling lingerie on eBay is not so difficult once you find what is in demand and find a lingerie drop shipper that you can depend on. Good luck!

Online Auctions - Great Opportunity to Earn Profits

There are so many things that you can do online which will earn you profits in your spare time. For internet junkies, they already know the ups and downs of internet business. As much as there are so many opportunities that you can do online, there are also scams that pose as legitimate businesses. They ask you for a small ?start up fees? and you get nothing in return. In the end, they will also ask you to recruit persons like you who will also be scammed.

But there are opportunities online that have been very successful in helping others succeed at the same time. One of those websites of course is eBay. Undoubtedly, eBay is the number one auction site in the world. Everyday, transactions worth millions of dollars are being processed. It may be something that was auctioned off or something that was purchased online. The company (eBay) itself does not sell or put products on auction. They rather host thousands or even millions of products that are being put up for auctions by their sellers or owners.

You too can be part of that business, and you could become successful in it. If you already have a local store, you do not need to create a website anymore. All you need is to set up an online store and you can update the information regarding the prices and the products that you sell.

Before you sell things online, you might want to develop some HTML skills. It is ok to give a simple description of the things that you sell online but it is also important to make your description and presentation look good. If you have simple HTML skills, you will be able to center the text, color them, and add animations and free tools which other websites offer for the products that you sell. In fact, it is a common practice that you should design your site to make it look beautiful.

If you are someone who has yet to start selling things online or in your neighborhood, you need a lot more patience than other online sellers. It could be quite frustrating at the start and believe me, as you are reading this, there a lot of products that are not sold online before the auction expires.

So what do you want to sell? That will be the question that you might want to ask before beginning any online sale. With many of products that are being sold online, you might want to consider something unique. For example, if you are planning to sell cell phones, you are trying to sell something that is being sold constantly so there is a very little chance that your phone will be sold.

Lastly is the reputation. All online auctions are built on reputations, especially eBay. People do not want to go ahead with a transaction with a newbie since they may not know what to do. The only way to increase your reputation is to buy products online and promptly pay for them. If you step out of an agreed upon transaction you will find yourself with negative feedback and people will not trust you anymore.

So if you think you have products to sell, go online and try the online auction. You will find it profitable as well as entertaining.

Why It's a BAD Idea To Promote Hot Selling Products on eBay

Do a quick search on Google, Yahoo, or your favorite auction resource site, and you'll quickly discover there are several software programs targeted to vendors who want to promote hot selling products on eBay.

The infatuation with hot selling products exists because sellers believe if you target items that have a robust sales pattern, you'll have a better chance at profiting on eBay. This is both true and false.

Yes... hot selling products can improve your bottom line. But unfortunately by the time the average eBay seller (a) realizes what the hot selling products are, (b) purchases stock to sell on eBay, and (c) actually puts the items up for sale, the demand is already being met by other eBay sellers who probably started the hot selling product trend some time ago.

Not only that, with thousands of people also having access to the same hot selling product lists, you'll have to contend with other eBay vendors who have the exact same ideas that you do. So you'll be up against the original sellers who are currently feeding the demand, AND doing the tango with newer sellers who have jumped on the same hot selling product bandwagon that you did.

Okay maybe this won't happen to you.

But suppose it does.

What if competition becomes so great that prices start dipping below the wholesale cost that you paid for the item? (It happens all the time on eBay.) And what if you lose $100, $200, or even $1,000 on inventory that you thought would be flying off the shelf? Suddenly that hot selling item is looking rather cold sitting in your garage collecting dust.

So if not hot selling products on eBay, then what?

Do what the majority of PowerSellers do. Sell what you want, instead of what's hot. Repeat after me, "Every day ordinary items sell extremely well on eBay... Every day ordinary items sell extremely well on eBay... Every day ordinary items sell extremely well on eBay." Allow this to become your mantra, because it is very much true.

I know this from first-hand experience as I analyze top sellers instead of hot products. And my research has continuously shown me that mediocre products don't necessarily translate into mediocre sales.

For instance, there's a seller right now who clears about $1,000-$2,000 a week selling magnets. And that's AFTER eBay and PayPal fee's. Another seller promotes homemade CD's to a specific audience and clears $900-$2,000 a week. A few sellers make $500-$700+ a week - after expenses - promoting public domain information. And the cool thing about public domain information is that anybody can sell it because it's free. So that's pure profit by selling something they never paid for. Talk about the ultimate arbitrage opportunity!

The ultimate key in succeeding no matter what product you end up selling, is to build a successful strategy. To figure out 'how' to profitably market what you have, instead of chasing after the next great thing. Because once you have the strategy part down, you can sell anything on eBay and make it a hot seller to your bank account.

Question: How Can I Tell if a Book is a Valuable, Out-of-print Collectible

QUESTION: How can I tell if a book is out of print? If Amazon isn't selling new copies, can I sell it for more than the original retail? With some of my books, I don't know the original price.

ANSWER: Technically, a book is "out of print" when its publisher declares it "out of print," and stops supplying it to wholesalers and bookstores. This can happen a few years after publication if sales have dropped off substantially. If sales remain healthy for a nonfiction book, the publisher may declare it "out of print" and print a second edition. This cuts the value of used copies, except of course in cases where the first edition is collectible.

If Amazon isn't selling new copies, that's a good indication a title is out of print. I suppose you could find a few examples of in-print books that aren't sold by Amazon, but these would likely be titles with virtually no demand -- and probably dead weight for your inventory.

For our purposes, any scarce book is a potential winner, and whether it's technically "out of print" is beside the point.

Setting your price is an art, not a science. The correct price is whatever the buyer is willing to pay, so long as you both believe the deal is fair. Pricing your copy above retail is your only smart option when the title is in demand and copies are scarce.

In the early days of Amazon Marketplace, only "collectible" books could be priced above the original list price, but this has changed. In my inventory today, I have several titles I've managed to find (in quantity) where the Marketplace price is significantly above retail. I'm not referring here to collectible books, but current books that are simply hard to find. This happens with certain titles when, for whatever reason, Amazon doesn't keep it in stock. Instead Amazon may special-order a copy when a customer buys, indicating: "Usually ships in 4 to 6 weeks."

Here's one example: "The Art of Peruvian Cuisine." For a specialized, high-end cookbook, it sells exceptionally well, with an Amazon Sales Rank under 20,000. The retail price is $49.95, and Amazon sells it for $31.47 -? if you're willing to wait several weeks. I sell my copies at $89.98 like clockwork, because buyers understand I'll ship it within two days. I was lucky enough to find a large, odd quantity of this book for about $10 apiece. This book provides a nice lift to my bottom line, and I've never had anyone complain about paying more than retail ?- they wanted a hard-to-find book quickly, and I provided the service.

With older books, I've sold tons with a similar markup. Obviously, it has to be a scarce book and there has to be some demand for it. But if you're the only seller with a copy, you only need one customer to sell out. Let's say, for example, six copies are listed on ABE.com, priced from $50 to $75. In this case, my rule of thumb is to price the book at $100 to $150 on Amazon.

These days it's easier than ever to get a feel for a book's value with a quick Internet search, but don't go faster than you're comfortable with.

Online Auctions-Finding a Better Deal!

When you think of an online auction you think of Ebay right? Well, as huge as Ebay is there is much competition on bidding for items. Most likely the bargain you find ends up getting the price driven through the roof and you end up paying more for it than retail. There are many other online auction websites out there that are just as good or if not better than Ebay. The good thing about these auction sites is that the traffic level is much lower and you have a much higher chance of winning your auction! That sounds wonderful right? Well, it is! Would you much rather have less or no competition when trying to bid on that one bargain you just have to have? Below is a list of the lesser known auction websites:

Yahoo Auctions -Now closed as of this year due to competition and higher fees.

Overstock Auctions

Ubid Auctions

Rummagehouse Auctions

Bidz

Squeagle

Again, the other auction websites offer many different products just like the giant Ebay, but no one knows about them due to the monopoly Ebay has over the entire auction world. They are like gold mines just waiting for people to discover them. They are filled with merchandise at the lowest price possible. Also, keep on the lookout for bulk items. Those can be some of the best deals anywhere. Get in there and bid on them before someone else has the chance to grab your deal! Great products + less bidding + competition = One great deal for you! Start your Christmas shopping early this year!

eBay Beginners Make Money - Easy 3 Step Plan And Drop Shipping Sources

If you are new to eBay or at least new to selling on eBay, I suggest following these three golden rules. Making money on eBay is not that difficult but you must master these three steps.

When I first started selling on eBay I looked around my house for something that others would want but that I didn?t need anymore. I looked at my old baseball card collection from when I was a kid and decided to sell a few cards. I picked a card and created my first listing. I didn?t even have a picture of the card on the eBay listing. All I did was accurately describe what I was selling. A ran the auction for seven days and I ended up selling the card. I then asked the buyer for the money, and then shipped the card to the buyer after I received payment. Pretty simple stuff. So the first lesson is to sell something that you don?t need anymore and that someone will find interesting or useful. This will help you get your feet wet and learn the process. Don?t get caught up in all of the extra listing fees, just create a basic listing with maybe one picture. After the item sells make sure you receive positive feedback and leave feedback for the buyer.

After you sell your first item you then need to decide what would be a good product to sell on a regular basis. Sell something you are interested in and is in great demand on eBay. Go to the eBay Pulse page and find out what the top searches are on eBay. This page will allow you to see within a category what items are most searched on. Find a product that you will be interested in selling.

Once you find a product then the next big step is to find a supplier. Finding a supplier for a product is not easy. There are many scam artist out there on the internet and so be careful. I started selling children?s bedding and it took awhile to find a reliable supplier. You need a supplier who will allow you to buy small quantities of product or allow you to drop ship the product. Currently I sell many different products on eBay and have only a few major suppliers. The real challenge on eBay is to find a good wholesale source of product, but once you do you will start making money on a consistent basis.

Bottom line is that in order to make money on eBay you will need to get started. Many people over analyze the process instead of just taking action. Get started today.

Getting the Word Out on Your eBay Store

Your eBay store is a nice little useless piece of virtual real estate if there are no visitors to the store. Needless to say, it also does not generate the income you want or thought it would generate, which was the primary reason why you had put up the store in the first place and continue to pay the store fees every month.

Having your store listed in the eBay stores category pages has its uses. However, realistically, your store is probably tucked away on page two hundred, never to be found because no eBay buyer has the patience to wade through all those screens.

Sure, you can pay a pretty penny to have your store listing bumped up to a more readily findable position.

However, there is a way to attract a lot of targeted attention to your eBay store that will cost you absolutely nothing.

It is called press releases.

There are services on the web that send out press releases to hundreds of news services and also email the press releases to thousands of journalists who opted in to receive press releases for a particular industry or niche.

Two of the more popular press release sites are pr.com and prweb.com. There is a host of others as well. Just do a search for "free press release" and you will see.

Now, please do not put out a press release that says, "Woohoo, there is yet another store on eBay that sells DVDs, or clothing, or whatever." Nobody will take any notice of such a press release.

You either need to find something newsworthy about your eBay store, or intentionally create an event that is newsworthy.

Perhaps you've decided to broaden the line of whatever you are selling, perhaps you are offering a seasonal discount, or perhaps you decided to offer free shipping on all your items.

Better yet, perhaps your eBay store has been reviewed by BestAuctionStores.com, where I contribute eBay store reviews. That is a one-time newsworthy event in the life of your store's history, if you have ever wanted to find one.

The press release sites are very helpful in terms of guidance and advice on how to write a press release, if you have never done one before. You could employ an advertising agency to craft the press release for you, but if your store is not yet profitable, I wouldn't advise spending extra money on the press release.

Just get the word out on your store. Sometimes you will make a boo-boo and put out a press release that is really not that newsworthy, but who cares. Nobody is going to break your fingers over it.

The key is, don't put out a press release about your eBay store, put out a press release about an event related to your store. You might get visitors and buyers from sources you didn't even know existed.

The Two Big Factors Of Selling On Ebay

We have all read the stories in the papers - there are thousands of people making a living or making a part-time income on eBay.

Today I'm going to talk about the two main influences of selling on eBay - and I will call this The Big Advantage and The Big Disadvantage.

Let's talk about The Big Disadvantage first.

The Big Disadvantage

eBay is a place where bargain hunters go. Hence you may not be able to command a premium price for your products. It is easy to compare the prices of similar products in the eBay marketplace and get the best deal. This can create pricing wars which reduce your profits.

The Big Advantage

How would like to tap into some (almost) free advertising? eBay really allows you to do this. All you need to do is set up your auction and you can expect a flood of targeted visitors. All this is done hands-off. Millions of people scour eBay everyday for products, and instead of building a website up from scratch, you can leverage on eBay's reputation and traffic.

One way to cut out The Big Disadvantage is to simply create a unique product. This has to be an information product, because it is the only kind of product that can be truly unique.

If I was searching for information on how to sell real estate, it's unlikely I would only buy one book on the topic. I will buy several books to get more information. However, for physical products, I do not need to buy so many trampolines, refrigerators or tables.

One big advantage with information products which are digital is that they can be delivered immediately. The buyer does not have to wait for weeks to get his product or pay for shipping. And you can automate the whole process - the buyer pays and receives his download automatically. This can be done on eBay.

Top 3 Products to Sell on eBay That Will Make You Rich

As of right now, eBay has quickly become the biggest website that you can profit off of fast and easily. Anyone can easily set up an eBay business these days. In fact, right now there are millions of users on eBay that run their own website on the site that show all the products that they are selling.

While the eBay selling strategies can come easy for some, it may be a little bit confusing for someone that has never even sold anything on eBay yet. eBay selling starts out with having an idea on what to sell. Figuring out what to sell is the most important step you must take in order to be successful with this process.

In order to choose what products to sell, you must focus on what people are interested these days that you can offer at a price that doesn't compare to the retail in local stores. Now, with that in mind, you must stay focused and make sure that you do your research before selling anything off the bat.

Here I am going to give you a few ideas of what to sell:

1. Electronics

There is always a rapid need for electronics these days, whether it is an iPod, cell phone, or stereo system. When a new device comes out on the market at an extremely high price, you better believe that you will find people searching for that item on eBay to find a discounted price.

2. Information Products

These types of products are usually delivered digitally. You can find different types of information products (eBooks) to sell on eBay. You can find a whole bunch of them in affiliate sites such as clickbank, or wholesale junction.

3. Antiques

Another reason why people come onto eBay because it is
some what said that eBay is the largest garage sale around. Many people will collect things for many years and then sell them on eBay to make a lot of profit off of their collectibles.

In my opinion, the best way to go is through drop shipping. This way is the best one used by the people that make a full time income on eBay everyday. Drop Shipping is a great thing that anyone can utilize. How it works is, you can go and search products that you are looking for at a discounted price. If you find a great bargain that you think might make your profit, you can list it in eBay.

When the product is sold, you will never have to worry about touching the product. You just let the manufacturer know that the product was sold and then they send it out to the buyer in the packaging.

So, you have a few ideas now on what exactly you can sell on eBay.

There are millions of Ebay users all over the world, and it?s understandable. They?re one of the many who discovered that there is money when you auction items in different countries.

Here are 7 methods to add more impact to your Ebay income:

1. Customize your Ebay profile. Ebay has their own profile page set up for you, but if you want to attract customers into your profile, you can include graphics, images, or other icons. Thus, it?s advisable to customize it so it will fit your style, preference, and taste.

2. Attract traffic going into your product. There are many ways to do that. You can post pictures, write detailed description, and develop the most attention-grabbing title.

3. Sell quality products. All your Ebay efforts will go down the drain if you sell products that are of inferior quality. This will add damage to your credibility in the form of negative feedback. You can?t expect them to buy more from you.

4. Add your products in various categories. You can maximize your exposure if you can submit your product listings in multiple categories. It may come with a fee, but it?s going to be worth your investment.

5. Provide accurate description. Be very precise with the description of your product. Remember, you will serve as the eyes for the buyers. After all, you don?t want your buyers to think that you?re misleading them.

6. Write reviews of your products. You can market your products even outside Ebay. You can develop copies and submit them to different article websites. Don?t forget to include a link to your Ebay product page.

7. Ask for a feedback. Building reputation includes asking feedbacks from your customers. Be sure that you politely remind your customers about it. It?s advisable too to drop by their page and add your feedback.

Want to Start Making Money Using Ebay

Do you want to start making money using eBay? I know that I do -- well, I did want to as of a few months ago.

I have been on eBay for years. I started using eBay to find sports memorabilia. There was so much on eBay that I couldn't find anywhere else. Then, one day, while I was browsing for a baseball jersey, I noticed another baseball jersey (that I wasn't really interested in) that was available for very little money. I wasn't sure why, but for some reason it just hadn't gotten many bids. I had seen jersey like this before that were sold for 2 or 3 times what this exact same one was going for.

So I bought it. And as soon as I received it, I re-sold it on eBay. I ended up doubling my money. That's really what got me started. I didn't know it at the time, but that "buy low, sell high" philosophy is what a lot of people use to make money on eBay.

Actually, it's more complicated than that. In reality it all comes down to finding the right products. If you can't find the right products, you can't make any money on eBay. It doesn't matter if you are going to dropship, sell refurbished goods, look for deals at garage sales or anything else. To make money using eBay you need to know what is really going to sell. Figure that out and you have yourself a little eBay business.

Selling On Ebay, Ebay Auction Software, How to make wholesale on Ebay, How to Wholesale

A tremendous number of people around the globe generate money from the internet. Ebay is one of the many ways of earning a lot of money. Through Ebay, selling your products is very easy. You can also auction at Ebay on a real time basis! Ebay has already gained a reputation of holding a huge market share for this kind of business. In fact, Ebay has been one of the biggest on-line retailers in the last few years. If you want to become good seller at Ebay, here are three (3) simple tips you must not ignore:

1. Understand auction dealings at Ebay.

Auction your products at the right time by selecting the days with which you will attract bids. Weekends are a great shot! Placing your items at the right categories and the amount of money you are expecting will determine whether you will do well with your auctions.

2. Do not go for the big things in the beginning.

Yes, they sell more money but they also demand huge bucks on shipping. Focus first on small. Yet in demand items that are also lightweight. This will cost you less and will attract more buyers with the low shipping costs.

3. Advertising will do you magic.

Be creative on your sales ad and impress your potential buyers. Everybody knows this isn't easy but you really have to break a leg on it. Use powerful words, sprinkled with conversational and amiable tones, to best describe what you are selling. Your products' flaws can be well-explained without using negativities. In this way, your ad will be impressive.

4. Concentrate on your chosen niche.

Find a niche that is not overstuffed. In this way, you don't need to compete with the big fishes.
Again, tremendous number of people who have tested these tips made an extremely good living supplementing their regular income. So plan your work now and start working on your plan!

I once had a buddy who could start the day with no cash and by lunch he was able to go for Surf and Turf. He wasn't a salesman but he knew how to sell the story. He would start small, "Hey, can you spot me a dollar? I forgot to bring a soda for lunch." Soon, he ups the ante. "Listen, it's my anniversary and I forgot to get a card. Lend me a couple of dollars. I'll pay you 3 tomorrow." 9 out 10 times this worked with several people. Being that it's only a dollar or two, most people don't ask for it back. Even more forget about it after a couple of hours. The old addage of being able to fool some of the people all of the time works well here.

Selling goods on the internet is no different. As long as you can make up a good story, you can sell anything. Take the following eBay auction. This woman sold a $3.00 pack of Pokemon cards for $142.51. Why? Read the story. The title alone invites the reader into a world of a weary mother who missed her kids sneaking something into the grocery cart. She goes into great detailed length at how at every turn, the little ones would throw random objects into the cart and the cards were the one she missed. Even still, the cards were opened, and she still managed to sell the item because of a compelling story. She maximized on the fooling all of the people some of the time idea. How? The internet and email forwarding worked in her favor. One person saw this auction and emailed it to two friends and so on and so forth, just like the Shampoo commercial. I received it myself in an email from a coworker the day everyone had caught onto the story. The viral nature of the internet coupled with the nature of the story drew people like bugs to a zapper and people felt compelled to bid on a pack of cards for nearly 4000% markup.

To shift gears a little, how about the chance to win a FREE PLAYSTATION 3 or iPOD? Sound too good to be true, it's really not. There are sites called Incentivized Freebie Websites or more commonly IFWs or Freebie sites. The concept is much like a pyramid scheme. You tell someone you got a free item. You show them how to get theirs. They show their friends and next thing you know, a hundred people are all trying to get a free gift based off of one person's word of mouth. IFWs are sweeping the internet and they are actually legit, in most cases. Sure, there are a number of sites that promise a lot and pay a little, citing various terms of services that you somehow missed when you originally signed up. The basic concept is this. I have a website called YourPS34Free.com and at the end is a series of numbers that make up a link that is unique to me. I send 10 people to that link through various means and they sign up as well. Here's the kicker. I as well as those 10 people have to complete an "offer" to get this free Playstation 3. Each one of us has to complete an offer or as they call it "Going Green," in order to be eligible. Now the offers range from everything to long distance, weight loss, and even stamps, and they don't cost a lot of money. But still, the idea is to get it for free. Most people want to get something for nothing. Ok, I'll rephrase that. Everyone wants something for nothing. There are ways to get it for free. These tactics rely solely on your ability to spot the loopholes and exploit them. Some people are willing to part with a little cash to get that really expensive item for a fraction of the cost. These people trade sites for cash or referrals on other sites.

The art of the sell works here because for the most part, people try to beg their friends and family to try out the sites. They post signs in the grocery stores and college campuses. They spam eBay auctions and message boards to get the word out. Sometimes, though, their voice gets lost in a sea of other PS3 hungry voices and they lose out to those who are willing to up the ante to get that freebie. Who really wins? The IFW sites that offer the freebie website and the retailers that put their offers up for completion make out like bandits. The retailers get traffic driven to their site as well as people signing up for offers that 5 out of 7 times requires some commitment. The IFWs get paid a fixed amount for driving traffic through their referral sites. They take what they get paid as a way to offset the cost of that game system or mp3 player. Who loses? If you fail to complete the requirements of getting the free gift or you somehow violate the terms of service, you lose out on the free gift. The IFW keeps the cash YOU generated by sending people to the retailers and YOU get NOTHING. For every one person who gets a PS3, there are hundreds, maybe thousands of people who change their mind or screw up causing them to get nothing. Every little referral counts to someone, from the retailer down to the poor average Joe who just wants a Playstation for Christmas without having to pay the high price tag.

There are many sites that offer help, eBooks that give tips, and unfortunately, there are scam artists out there who are willing to take your money and not give you a referral. If you are thinking about getting involved with an IFW do some research. Check around for legitimate ones that offer a better referral to gift ratio. When in doubt, save your money or be like my buddy and con 400 people into giving you a dollar. It's bound to work on some of the people, some of the time. Making Money With A Coin Auction

Online auctions are a great way to find a bargain on almost everything and it is an excellent way of getting the best price for selling something of your own. While some general auction sites have many items listed, other sites specialize in selling coins and collectibles only.

While online coin auctions can save you a lot of money, they are best approached with caution and a better understanding of how they work. One of the hottest online trends and one that does not look like it is going to abate any time soon, are eBay online auctions.

Selling

The eBay online coin auctions are becoming increasingly popular for both buyers, sellers, and even just for browsers. Bidding, buying and selling can be fun and exciting, too. If everyone is selling the same coin, or several similar coins on the same site, you need to make your auction different.

Buyers

While buying coins through online coin auction sites is a good way to purchase rare coins, buyers should exercise the same cautions as when they do when buying anything else on the Internet. Get to the items early and book mark them then start searching for the coins in other places to access value. Buyers should especially be wary about non graded coins.

No picture: Most buyers are reluctant to bid on a collectible coin without a picture or detailed description, and that goes even more for high-value coins and other collectibles. Online coin auction sites are a great way to find a bargain on almost anything and an excellent way of getting the best price for selling something of your own.

Online Auctions are the best thing that has happened with the advent of Internet. Coins, computers, clothes, dolls, toys?whatever you want, you will be able to find it online in an auction format. Many online coin auction sellers will give you a discount on shipping if you order multiple items. Online coin auctions are great for holiday shopping when you have to buy that special coin for someone who may not be able to find it locally.

Sniping for a coin auction item is a legitimate and quite popular technique used in online coin auctions. Since online auctions are timed, an eager buyer will be constantly watching over the item. If you place snipe bid to come in at the last minute you can save money and often times make a profit.

How To Start An Ebay Account The Right Way

Starting up your new eBay account can be one of two things. A very good, easy experience, or a very bad, hard experience. Although it can be pretty easy to do, it really isn?t as easy as signing up and starting right away. If you are planning on using your eBay account for buying on eBay, it actually is that easy. If you are planning on selling it is a little bit more complex.

The first thing to think about when opening an eBay account is PayPal account. If you want to get paid, you first need to get a PayPal account. Before you do that it?s a good idea to get a separate email address just for eBay and PayPal with yahoo or hotmail. That way you don?t have to get all your eBay mail mixed in with your personal mail. Once you get your new email (which will only take a minute) then you are ready for the PayPal account. To have a good PayPal account you will need to provide all your personal information, along with your bank account information, and credit card information. You will also need to upgrade to a premium account. The free account won?t get you very far on eBay, and your account needs the upgrade before you can get verified. It?s okay if some of the stuff I am throwing at you doesn?t make sense. It will once you go to PayPal and check it out. This is just so you don?t jump straight onto eBay and make an account without doing this other stuff first. These may seem like small things, but trust me they will make things much easier for you down the road.

Once you have your PayPal account all taken care of you can move onto eBay. The actual sign up, and set up of the account is very easy to do. It takes just a matter of minutes. The important part is that what you do with your account right after you sign up. If you are going to sell on eBay then you first need to get some feedback. The feedback system is what eBay uses for it?s users to get a better understanding of who they are doing business with. Your feedback rating is your reputation. You can get more on feedback in my article I wrote called eBay Feedback.

Now that you got your PayPal account to get paid, and your feedback to show that you are a legitimate eBayer, you are ready to go. EBay is a very competetive area to go into, however the opportunities are endless. Just don't forget that preperation is one of the keys to success.

Charity Auctions

Charity auctions have been in existence for a long time now. The advent and growth of the Internet has opened a new avenue for conducting charity auctions. There are literally hundreds of online resources, which exclusively cater to the needs of charity auctions. Donors who purchase items at charity auctions usually stand to benefit for the reason that they can claim charitable contribution deductions for the excess of the price paid by them for an item, over its market value. During charity auctions, people who attend them are given a list of items along with their market value. These items are available to be bid on. If a donor pays an amount which is more than the published value, the difference between the amount paid and the published value is termed as the charitable contribution deduction.

Charity auctions are conducted to raise money for charity, as their name suggests. Though service is the main objective for charity auctions, lot of business acumen is required on the part of the companies or organizations that conduct these auctions in the first place. They need to auction items that will fetch a good price and enable them to raise money for a particular charitable cause. Charitable auctions are held for raising money for treatment of physical ailments, to benefit educational institutions, for disaster relief, or for specific people or causes, to name a few reasons. Non-profit organizations conduct these charity auctions to raise funds for specific causes. Charity auctions have been instrumental in helping millions of people around the world.

One can get extensive information on the procedures that must be followed to conduct charity auctions through dedicated online resources. One can get tax benefits by purchasing items in charity auctions in most of the cases. You can check with the organizers for more details.

7 Ways to Make More Money on eBay

At any given moment there are millions of buyers shopping on eBay, and many sellers have learned there is plenty of money to be made on the popular auction site. Some sellers make a great deal of money - enough to quit their day jobs and sell on eBay full-time. Most will tell you, though, that they went through a learning curve and had to learn how to sell products at a high profit.

There are certain principles and marketing techniques that have become well-known to eBay Powersellers. Seven of these marketing tips are as follows:

  • Use Clear, Sharp Pictures. The picture of your product is very important when selling online because the picture is the only means the buyer has of actually viewing the product. Sellers who use blurry pictures or picture with poor lighting will lose sales. Buyers judge your product by the picture, so take the best pictures you possibly can. Invest in a good quality digital camera, purchase lamps for extra lighting, and research ways to take better pictures.

  • Research Your Product. Before listing your product, research other products, both sold and currently selling. Study sold products to determine how much they sold for, and this will give you a good idea about how much you can expect to get for your product. Study the products that did not sell, and try to determine the reason they did not sell.

  • Write a Good, Accurate Description. A good, accurate description of the product you are selling is very important, as it gives buyers details about the product. Try to anticipate questions they may have and include the answers in the description. When writing your description, break it up into short paragraphs. Long paragraphs are hard to read and many buyers won't bother to read long paragraphs.

  • Guarantee Products and Give Refunds. An important part of any business is offering a guarantee to customers. This gives buyers confidence in buying your products. Very few buyers actually ask for a refund, and reputable sellers who offer refunds rarely have to give them. In the long run, your reputation and business will be repaid many times over by offering your customers a satisfaction guarantee and giving refunds to those who ask for it.

  • Ship Promptly. When buyers win a bid, they are very anxious to receive the item they won. Don't ship products to your customers at your own convenience. Ship products to your customers within 24 hours if at all possible. Prompt shipping will give you a reputation as a professional and reliable seller.

  • Write Descriptive Titles with Keywords. Use every possible space in your title and use as many keywords as possible. The title of your auction is the first thing that catches a buyer's eye, and most buyers search with keywords rather than browsing in categories.

  • Sell Popular Products in Hot Niches. This is the most important tip to make a high income on eBay. The average product listed on eBay sells 33% of the time, which means if you're selling average products, you'll sell about one item for every three you list. Popular products in hot niches sell at a much higher percentage-50% or more. In order to make more money on eBay, sell products in hot niches.

The Most Powerful eBay Tool...And It's Free!

It makes me cringe when I see eBay sellers not maximising the power of all the free resources eBay provide you with. But what is the most useful and profit generating tool?

The eBay about me page!

Why is this tool so powerful? This article explains why.

Consider this scenario. You list ten items on eBay. Each item gets 200 views, that?s 2000 total views and 20% of auction visitors click through to your eBay about me page which results in 400 views. If on your about me page you have a link to another product then you could expect around 7-8 sales of that product and on complete auto-pilot. Do you realise the power of this resource now?

Now we move on to how to create the perfect eBay about me page and what your page should include.

Most importantly it should include a sign up form for your newsletter. Many marketers say that each subscriber is worth approximately $1 per month for the list owner. Firstly, however, you will need to invest in an auto-responder. I, and the majority, use aWeber Communications which can be found with a simple Google search. Follow the simple steps to insert a web form onto your about me page.

Secondly, include links to your major websites. This makes you appear professional and can also result in sales and adsense revenue.

Thirdly, include direct links to other products you sell on your website. This should result in a few extra sales per month depending on the number of auction visitors you receive.

Fourthly, include links to affiliate products that you promote. If a buyer purchases the product through your unique URL then you receive a commission which is usually around 50%. Not bad for just inserting a link on a webpage. Again, this should result in an extra few sales per month.

Fifthly, include links to your other auctions. Cross promoting your other auctions is important, especially if your products interlink.

Finally, eBay gives you the option to include your latest feedback points. If you pride yourself on a strong, positive feedback then include this into your about me page. This helps to establish trust between you and potential customers.

I imagine by now you are desperately brain storming ideas for your eBay about me page, well I hope you are anyway! If you create it in the right way then it can be a nice earner and cover the ever rising eBay fees. It will also help you in your quest to move from eBay seller to online entrepreneur.

How To Create Compelling Auctions In eBay

Listing an auction on eBay is as simple as ordering food from a Restaurant menu. All the same just like ordering food you need to consider all options available and select the option that you like the most to make your auctions effective. Not to forget cost is a consideration for most of us when eating out. Similarly as an auctioneer you want to keep the cost of hosting an auction at the minimal.

Clicking the sell link on my eBay page and entering your product information and filling all text boxes is very intuitive and we all can do it but I want to share with you some considerations to think about when auctioning at eBay.

1) Carefully word your description as that is the portion most of the readers go to get details about your product. You can make it colorful and creative but make sure you make it very informative and clear.

Subtitles are charged but are useful as they show as some text below the auction so it can sometimes serve as good differentiator when looking at many auctions.

2) There are additional paid options like gallery, bold, border, gift, additional photos, layout. They cost you but you need to be creative to make sure you look different or stand out among other auctions. Don't forget that if you are selling iPods for example there will be 100s of iPods auctioning along with you. Your ability to differentiate yourself from the herd is the key to success. The options I will recommend you are subtitle, gallery, border and layout. Other options are worth trying too. Subtitle is effective as it shows immediately below the subject when viewing your product along with other products in eBay. It can be a powerful differentiator. Do keep in mind that there is a limit of 60 characters or so at eBay. Gallery enlarges your product image when the buyer mover his/her mouse over the product. That definitely attracts attention. Border option will show a border around your auction when seen along with other auctions. It is cheap and makes the auction stand out. Layout option allows you to select from layouts provided by eBay and makes the auction enticing when the buyer decides to view the auction.

3) Start price in an auction is the price at which the auction starts. Depending upon the start price eBay will charge you for the auction. Keep it low but not too low as you want a dignified start for your auction. Setting a start price which is 10% of your expected price of sale can be a good benchmark.

Reserve price and buy it now price are important and decide the final selling price. Reserve price like start price decides the charge eBay levies on you. Your product will not sell below the reserve price so it contains your risk of selling lower that cost price but setting it too high discourage prospective buyers.

4) Make sure you give them shipping auction like USPS, UPS etc. And mention a reasonable shipping price. eBay sometimes cancels your auction if you mention a very high shipping price.

5) Clearly document your return policy and return days.

Once you are done with all this eBay will tell you the total cost you will be charged for listing. Don't forget that you will be charged something more when your item finally sells. The eBay charge comes to approx. 3 % of your selling price. This information should be good to jump start your eBay auctioning initiative. Please look at eBay for the latest charges.

Profitable Ebay Income - Discover 5 Authentic Secrets to Energize Your Ebay Income

Many people use eBay to sell products. However, not many are able to make money on them. There are a few secrets that you use to make more through eBay. Try these and see the effects:

1. Categorize! Use your categories properly. People who go to eBay for products make use of the category listings to find what they want. Therefore, it is essential that you put your product in the right category. Otherwise, your product will not be found by those who may want it.

2. Be honest. This will be seen in several aspects of your eBay listing. First, if your product is less than perfect, then, by all means, say what?s wrong with it. Some buyers are willing to get a defective product especially when it costs far cheaper than the perfect ones.

Also, if you are selling audio-visual products and software make sure that they are authentic. There are strict laws against piracy and trading them. You wouldn?t want to sully your reputation nor would you want to burn bridges to loyal customers by giving them rip-offs.

3. Use the eBay Selling Manager. For eBay auctioneers, there is a service that the site offers called the Selling Manager. It keeps track of the products you have posted and manages your account for you including feedback mechanisms and reports. If you intend to sell many products, this is the perfect tool to help you save time and effort.

4. Post properly. This means minding your grammar and spelling. You?d be surprised at how badly a misspelled product will perform. For one thing, no one will find it because buyers will search for ?flute? instead of your listed ?fluet?.

5. Know what people want. Believe it or not eBay has the tool for this. It is called the eBay Pulse. This service gives you the top ten searches for a given category. This should give you an idea of what people who go to eBay look for.

Making Money On eBay - What to do With Unsold Product

One of the challenges that we all face as we grow our eBay business is what to do with products that don?t sell. Making money on eBay includes no-sale auctions from time to time. There are some specific steps to take when this happens to you.

eBay is a great marketplace. We have found that almost anything and everything will sell. If an item doesn?t sell, examine the basics first. These include picture quality, the auction title, the description, pricing. Double check to see if you missed something about competing products.

If all of the above have been competed, then there are some decisions to make. Do you want to re-list the item after correcting anything you found? Auction costs add up, irregardless of whether you make a sale or not. If re-listing is the right step, go ahead and move forward. If you have an eBay store, should you move the product to your store? Should the product be bundled with other products and sold together?

Making money on eBay will occasionally drive a seller to take a gamble and try to sell an item that wasn?t adequately investigated. Possibly it was a buying opportunity that required an immediate decision. Maybe the product that didn?t sell was part of a bigger lot of merchandise. No matter what the reason, action needs to be taken. Carrying merchandise in your inventory costs money, it takes space, and no-sale auctions are expensive.

In our case, we periodically receive merchandise that does not meet our quality standards. While we could go ahead and make money on eBay by selling these items, we don?t feel they would meet with complete buyer approval. Since we value our customers, we prefer to use other methods to dispose of them.

We decided to find another way to sell this merchandise without compromising the quality of what we sell on eBay. We made contact with a few businesses in our local area. These were all deep discount and/or closeout retailers who look for low-cost products. One of those contacts has resulted in a business agreement where a retailer. The retailer has agreed to accept 100% of the sub-standard products that we send to them. They are responsible for transportation, and we are responsible for boxing and palletizing the products.

This relationship has resulted in thousands of poorer quality items being sold. In all cases, we did actually sell for slightly less than we paid. On the other end of the transaction, we maintained our happy customers, high eBay feedback ratings, and higher average eBay sales price for those items that we did sell. Basically, everyone wins. The retailer has low-cost products that would not otherwise be available to them. Our customers only get the best of the products. We receive a higher overall price for the products.

There are other ways to dispose of products that you either do not wish to sell, or that will not sell.

? Donate to charity

? Create larger lots and sell by the lot on eBay

? Create larger lots and sell on other auction sites

? Create larger lots and sell via other means (Craigslist is one example)

? Trade with other vendors for products that you can sell

? Sell ?As Is? with full disclosure on eBay

? For smaller quantities, consider making gifts of the items

Making money on eBay at times requires creativity. While no-one likes to mention the product that did not sell, it does happen. If the problem isn?t associated with the auction listing itself, then it is likely the product. Rather than losing money with multiple listings, consider other creative methods for removing the product from your inventory.
