Seized Automobiles

Have you ever considered searching for a new car
through a seized car auction? Lots of people now search for used cars online,
but often through private dealers. But in recent years it has become more
popular to look for seized automobiles through government-held auctions.
Every month thousands of cars become government and bank property through
various seizure laws. Because of the constant influx of vehicles and the
enormous expense to store them, the government aims to sell these cars fast and,
if necessary, cheap. The constant exchange of vehicles and the
enormous expense to store them, means amazing deals and virtually guaranteed
rock bottom prices for consumers.

Some of you might be asking why these items are seized to begin with. In
most cases it is due to illegal activities. Seized auto auctions are
constantly supplied by criminals when they are caught. The government seizes
cars and anything else the criminal obtained with money from illegal activities.
Your average drug dealer isn't driving a Ford Escort meaning your bound to find
some high-end luxury cars at these auctions. Makes and models obviously
vary but expect to see some of the best cars out there such as: Acura, BMW,
Cadillac, Honda, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes, and even exotic imports like Aston
Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. Other reasons for government seizures
could include cars seized in collection of IRS back-taxes, and also customs
seizures of improperly imported cars (usually having to do with improper import
documentation issues).

Because of the multiple sources of seizures, and the constant influx of seized
cars, there are literally thousands of bargain vehicles available at various
seized auto auctions. These bargains could be in your own hometown, and you may
not even know it. Whether you need a car for yourself and don't want to spend a
lot, or you have a teenager with a new license, seized auto auctions offer some
of the best values in the car buying market. All kinds of makes and models are
available and that owning an additional car can become a lucrative reality
and still keep your wallet intact. With the high cost of storing cars,
local and state governments want to liquidate their seized auto inventory as
quickly as possible to save money.

Okay now that we have your interest in these seized auto auctions, there are
some things you should know in advance. One thing that is of the utmost
importance is the origin of the vehicle you might be interested in. It is almost
universally mandatory that each vehicle have a clear history available at the
auctioneers, so you can relax because you generally won't be bidding on
seriously damaged or salvaged cars without knowing it. It is also a great
idea to check the bluebook value in order to get an idea of what you should end
up bidding at one of these seized auto auctions. Also, while many of the
cars will be in tip-top shape and are high end models, there could at least theoretically
be some hidden issues so I suggest you take a mechanic or someone who knows cars
well with you.
